We've been hanging around the literary underworld on both sides of the pond and have found some serious hardwear that might just blow you away. Anyway. less of this metaphorical tosh. Here's what we've got for you at Beat the Dust this month: - a new poem from DAN FANTE - a new short story from HEIDI JAMES plus the opening chapter from her new novel 'wounding' - more poetry from JUSTIN HYDE, JACK HENRY and STEVE ELY - a novel extract from BARRY GRAHAM - short fiction from LEE MESS and CRAIG WALLWORK. Craig's piece uses the "burnt tongue" writing technique, which basically involves playing with the phrasing to make the reader slow down and ponder the true meaning of the story. Think literary speed bump. To read and comment on all this month's great writing, go to www.beatthedust.com Beat the Dust is one year old next month so to celebrate we have a very special issue involving many of the very best writers from the Brit Lit underground writing scene. The November issue will be a return to the usual format though so turn your laptop on (in the non-sexual sense obviously) and open a vein...
